Talking Sheep Productions are putting on a benefit show, with all proceeds going to Mercy Corps, which may interest some of your members if they are going to the Edinburgh Festival :
Burns and Hafez - Bards Apart? – Sunday 19 August 6.30pm – 7.45pm
The Nomad's Tent, 21 St Leonard's Lane, Edinburgh
Separated by four centuries and over 4000 miles, by culture, by history, by religion, by language: poets Burns and Hafez can’t really have anything in common – can they? Are Burns and Hafez ‘Bards Apart’ or have they got far more in common than that which divide? You – the audience – will decide!
The key poems and songs of both the Bards are performed – sung, recited, acted – accompanied by Santoor, Guitar and Bass, together with a bit of context and discussion. For those who don’t understand Persian – or 18th century Scots – we have English subtitles.
Tickets: £10.00 (£8.00 Student Concession) . To book: http://nomadstent.co.uk/product-category/fringe-2018-tickets/
